    WorldStar Packaging Award 2013

RAKO-GROUP wins „WorldStar Packaging Award 2013“ with Linerless "RAKO Lean Label Eco"

For more than 40 years, the “WorldStar Packaging Award” has been the most important packaging prize in this industry. The winners were chosen out of 7 categories by an international jury in Singapore end of November 2012. RAKO has won the prize in the category “others”. All in all more than 300 ideas from 33 different countries took part in the competition to receive the popular “WorldStar Packaging Award 2013”. The prize was awarded at the Australian fair “Auspack Plus 2013” in Sydney on May 9th, 2013.

The RAKO-GROUP has set itself the specific task to increase the positive environmental impact and sustainability of label production. The key to success are intelligent solutions which offer clear advantages to the customers. How it succeeds can be demonstrated on the development of the linerless label. Unlike conventional self-adhesive labels, linerless labels stick to themselves and can be dispensed cleanly due to the siliconized surface of the label. There are no distances between the labels. Thus you have a better material utilization and the number of labels on reel can be increased, thereby reducing the numbers of reel changes at the machine. Ideally, the roll core can be reduced up to 37 percent with identic number of running meters. It reduces energy consumption, preserves valuable resources and lowers waste to a large extent. The customer saves transport and storage costs. All in all, this excellent innovation offers many advantages.

    German Packaging Award 2012

The RAKO-GROUP wins German Packaging Award 2012 for the development of the linerless label RAKO Lean Label Plus. The most prestigious prize of the branch was awarded to the RAKO-GROUP on 24th September, 2012 in the category labels, closures and other packaging solutions.

RAKO has set itself the specific task to increase the positive environmental impact and sustainability of label production. The keys to success are intelligent solutions which offer clear advantages to the customers. How it succeeds can be demonstrated on the example of the linerless label development. It reduces energy consumption, preserves valuable resources and the costumer saves transport and storage costs.

The development of this linerless label “RAKO Lean Label Plus” which is produced by the use of renewable raw materials was awarded by the jury “as especially innovative and successful example in the field of ecology and sustainability”. Unlike conventional, self-adhesive labels a Linerless label does not require a liner, which transports the label to the product to be labelled.

This completely innovative technology produces labels which stick to themselves and can be dispensed cleanly due to the siliconized surface of the label.

Thus you have a better material utilization and more labels can be wound up on reel. This optimization avoids waste. Ideally the roll core can be reduced up to 37% with identic number of running meters. In the application of the new linerless technology the dispensing speed is not reduced, the winding up of linerless labels does not increase noise level and the decreased use of materials and resources lowers waste to a large extent. This excellent innovation offers many advantages.
