Source tagging means that safeguard labels are already attached to the product or its packaging by the manufacturer during the production process.

Electronic article surveillance (EAS)
Nowadays electronic article surveillance is essential for the retail trade. The product is secured by a transmitter, attached by means of a self-adhesive label or a hardtag. In case the safeguard label is not deactivated or removed, antennas in the exit area of the shop will raise an alarm.
